He Posted That He Doesn't Need Help. The Embassy Got Hit Anyway.
You ever have one of those mornings where everything goes wrong, and instead of fixing anything, somebody just keeps telling you everything’s fine?
That was yesterday, except with drones.
While projectiles and unmanned aircraft were hitting the United States Embassy in Baghdad — hitting it, as in connecting, as in this was not a near miss — the President of the United States posted on Truth Social that the U.S. does not need the help of anyone.
Anyone.
He did not post about the embassy. He posted about not needing help. While the embassy was being attacked.
Same day, two top Iranian security officials were killed in strikes. So the war is escalating on multiple fronts, our diplomats are ducking for cover in Baghdad, and the man responsible for all of it is on his social media platform writing the kind of thing you put on a truck decal.
Now I’ve had customers in here who got too deep into something and couldn’t back out — bad business deals, bad marriages, bad bets. They all had one thing in common: they stopped asking for help right about the time they needed it most. Pride has a smell. I’ve learned to recognize it.
Doesn’t need anyone’s help. Alright, baby. You just let me know how that’s going.
The embassy staff probably had some thoughts on the matter, but we’ll check back on them later since apparently their situation doesn’t require any outside input.
Two officials dead. One embassy hit. Zero acknowledgment that maybe — just maybe — this thing is bigger than one man’s Truth Social account.
You want pie? Coconut cream. It won’t solve anything but it’s a damn sight better than staring at the news.
